BOX ELDER COUNTY — A shelter-in-place order for the Tremonton-Garland area was canceled late Friday afternoon after authorities deemed the situation safe, Garland City officials announced.
The order was issued earlier following reports of “shots fired” on the southeast side near the Milad River, according to the Tremonton-Garland City Police Department (TGCPD). The department believes the noises were likely from bird hunters operating close to town.
Garland City initially alerted residents via social media to stay indoors, lock doors and windows, and avoid travel.
“Authorities have determined that the situation is safe, and normal activities may resume,” the city stated upon lifting the advisory. City officials also thanked the public for their patience and cooperation.
