LOGAN – The Cache County Republicans will observe Constitution Day on Wednesday, Sept. 17 with a traditional dinner and guest speaker.
That event will take place on the Utah State University Natural Resources patio from 6 to 8:30 p.m., according to Cache GOP Chair Natalie Levi.
The guest speaker for Constitution Day will be Trent Staggs, author of “Heirs of the Revolution: Our Civic Duty to Restore Our Republic.”
Constitution Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is normally observed on September 17, the day in 1787 that delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document in Philadelphia.
Staggs is an American entrepreneur and politician, currently serving as the mayor of Riverton. He was previously a member of the Riverton City Council and an unsuccessful candidate for the U.S. Senate.
The author was raised in Orem, one of ten children. Staggs graduated from the University of Utah with degrees in political science and economics. He later earned a masters degree from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.
Staggs’ monograph regarding the U.S. Constitution was published by Bombardier Books in July of this year.
The USU Natural Resources patio is located at 5200 Old Main Hill in Logan. Tickets are $25 per guest.
