BOX ELDER COUNTY — Authorities are investigating after a man’s body was discovered in a remote mountain area of northwestern Utah over the weekend.
The Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office says a passerby found the body Saturday in the Silver Island Mountains, a range near the Tooele-Box Elder county line.
Deputies responded to the scene and, while their initial findings do not suggest foul play, a full investigation is underway. The man’s body has been turned over to the Utah Medical Examiner’s Office, which will work to determine his identity and the cause of death.
