SALT LAKE CITY – Job seekers across Utah will have the opportunity to explore more than 1,700 open positions at a statewide virtual job fair hosted by the Utah Department of Workforce Services on Thursday, March 6. The online event, running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., is free to participate in and will feature nearly 50 employers from various industries.
“Whether you’re facing a layoff or looking for a job change, the virtual job fair makes it easy to network and meet with multiple employers in one place,” said Liz Carver, Workforce Development Division director. “In addition to the job fair, Workforce Services can help you at every step of your job search. We offer individual job coaching, job search workshops as well as resume and interview assistance.”
The event will feature opportunities in manufacturing, transportation and logistics, health care, hospitality, government, and more. Job seekers should come prepared with a resume and a professional photo for their online profile.
Once logged into the virtual job fair, participants will see a digital floor plan with employer booths. Clicking on a booth provides access to company information, job listings, and live chat features. Employers will have the ability to schedule interviews, conduct one-on-one video chats, and even extend job offers on the spot.
To participate, job seekers must pre-register at jobs.utah.gov and create or sign in to their “My Job Search” account. Two online workshops, offered at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on March 5, will help participants maximize their experience at the job fair.
For those unable to attend, more than 25,000 job openings are available on the state’s employment website. Employers interested in joining the no-cost event can contact their local workforce development specialist.
