BOX ELDER COUNTY — A 65-year-old woman died Monday night in Brigham City from injuries police believe she sustained after being hit by a car in an apparent hit-and-run incident.
The Brigham City Police Department said officers responded to a report of a “person down” at the intersection of 850 South and 425 East just before 8 p.m. Monday.
Police found the woman lying in the middle of the road with serious injuries. She was treated by paramedics at the scene and transported to Brigham City Community Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released her identity.
An investigation into the death is ongoing. As of Tuesday morning, detectives had interviewed area residents but had not identified or located a suspect driver or vehicle.
