UINTA COUNTY, Wyoming. — A magnitude 4.7 earthquake rattled southwest Wyoming and northern Utah early Thursday morning, centered just south of the state line. 

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake occurred at 7:49 a.m. and was centered 40 kilometers (approximately 25 miles) south of Evanston. Residents across the Wasatch Front and parts of Uintah County reported feeling the tremor, which originated at a relatively shallow depth. 

As of 8:00 a.m., there have been no immediate reports of injuries or significant structural damage. Local emergency management officials in Evanston and Rich County, Utah, are currently assessing infrastructure but noted the initial impact appeared minimal.
