Velva Jean Pett, born October 4, 1948, in Brigham City, UT, and a lifelong resident of the city, passed away on February 14, 2024. She was a beloved homemaker, known for her generous spirit and youthful nature. Jean was the heart of her home, always welcoming friends and neighbors with her freshly baked bread and cinnamon rolls. She found joy in her hobbies of gardening, crafting, crocheting, and sewing, and in her service to her community through various roles in her religious involvement.

Their family was sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on September 28, 1991. Jean’s faith led her to serve a mission at the Ogden Utah Temple for two years. She held many roles in her church including Relief Society President, Young Women Camp Director, Scout Leader, and Primary Teacher.
Jean is survived by her children, Misti, Amy, Anna, Anthony, and Vanessa, and her 11 grandchildren, as well as her siblings, June Smith, Lavina Petersen, Ada Hewlett, Patricia Panagoplos, Betty Reid, David Hadley, Mitch Staley, and Mike Staley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and other brothers and sisters.
