PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Utah State’s two gymnasts had solid outings Friday in Session I of the second round of the Pittsburgh Regional.

The two Aggies – junior Brianna Brooks and senior Sofi Sullivan – both hit on their respective routines as Utah State officially closed out its 2023 campaign at Petersen Events Center.

“Our staff is so incredibly proud of Brianna and Sofi’s performance today,” Utah State head coach Kristin White said. “They both came in and rocked their final routines of the season and made Utah State very proud.”

Sullivan capped her stellar Aggie career by recording a 9.875 on beam, placing seventh out of 27 competitors in Session I.

“Sofi has had an incredible career and is going down in the record books as one of the best beam performers in Utah State history,” White said. “We are so proud of her accomplishments as an Aggie and we will miss her deeply.”

Sullivan set the single-meet school record with a 9.975 on beam at Air Force during her freshman season in 2020. She also has the second-best beam score in school history with a pair of 9.950s, and the ninth-best beam score with a 9.925.

Brooks competed on bars and scored a 9.925, which ranks second all-time in school history for a regional meet. The native of Las Vegas, Nevada, tied for third on the event in Session I.

“Brianna has been our rock this season,” White said. “She stepped up in a huge leadership role and contributed so many great routines for USU. We are thrilled to have her coming back next year for her senior year to help lead this team back to the championships.

“The future is bright for Utah State. We started the build-back this season and now the climb continues – 2024 can’t come soon enough.”
