LOGAN – The second presentation in Utah State University’s Science Unwrapped spring 2025 series is Friday, Feb. 21, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Emert Auditorium of the Eccles Science Learning Center.

Josh Lively, paleontologist at USU Eastern’s Prehistoric Museum, will present “Terrific Terrible Lizards: the Age of Dinosaurs and Beyond in Eastern Utah.”

During his presentation Lively is likely to once again express his support for “Utah Mammoth” as the ideal name for Utah’s new National Hockey League team. In a recent TV interview he said it’s uniquely Utah because of the 1988 discovery of the remains in Utah’s Huntington Canyon of a Columbian mammoth, which is larger and stronger than a woolly mammoth.

Friday’s presentation will be the second of Science Unwrapped’s spring series, “Celebrate Undergrad Research.”

Following Lively’s presentation, USU student groups will lead hands-on learning activities, followed by refreshments.
