The candidates are Chancellor of Montana Tech Don Blackketter, USU Provost and Executive Vice President Noelle Cockett, former Virginia State University President Keith Miller and Vice President for Research and Economic Development at Boise State University Mark Rudin.
According to the release, the chair of the search committee Teresa Theurer said that the pool of “highly-qualified candidates” was narrowed from 40 after an “exhaustive search.”
Albrecht is USU’s 15th president and has served since 2005. He announced his retirement in February this year.
The finalists will be interviewed in person on October 26.
