LOGAN – A touch of Ireland will return to Logan via the LionHeart Hall at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9.
That’s when the team of Irish musicians Sorcha Costello and Mary MacNamara will perform here, sponsored by the Bridger Folk Music Society.
The mother-daughter duo come straight from the town of Tulla, in the County Clare area of western Ireland, where Ms. Costello is a well-known fiddle player and her mother (Ms. MacNamara) is equally regarded as being accomplished on the concertina.
Their music is deeply rooted in the Irish tradition of music, with its trademark steady rhythms and swinging style.
In addition to performing, Ms. MacNamara is one of the most sought-after teachers of Irish music in the world today. She has recorded three solo albums and two duet albums, the most recent being “The Lady’s Cup of Tea,” with her daughter.
In recent years, Ms. Costello has also become one of Ireland’s most in-demand fiddle players and teachers. She has performed at festivals worldwide, including events in New Zealand, Australia and the United States.
The mother-daughter duo have a reputation for deep musical understanding, producing a magical, rhythmic flow in their music.
In addition to their 7 p.m. performance at LionHeart Hall, the pair will offer a performance skills workshop at 2.30 p.m. on Nov. 9 and an Irish music session for local musicians at 9:30 p.m.

Adult ticket for the evening concert are $25 each, with college and graduate students at $10 each and children under 18 are just $5.
