LOGAN – With the 2026 general session of the Utah Legislature set to begin on Jan. 20, local state Sen. Chris Wilson (R-Dist. 2) is once again surveying constituents’ opinions.

“Understanding and addressing your concerns is essential to my job as your elective representative (in the Utah Senate),” Wilson explains. “I highly value your input.”

As he has done in past years, Wilson, who was recently named GOP majority whip in the Utah Senate, is now circulating a Pre-Session Survey to his 2nd District constituents via e-mail.

The survey can also be found by going online to https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSekUrhASBbWNRhlzSnwayzBWG7uZ1S4aAlYyL_y4S8-OGwe2A/viewform

“This is a great way to provide feedback and share your concerns before the 2026 General Session begins,” he adds. “I encourage you to participate and take just a few minutes to share your thoughts with me.”

Survey respondents are asked to select their top issues from a list of 15 possible concerns and their top three budget priorities from a list of 13 areas of focus.

“The policies we consider this session should reflect the priorities of the people who make Utah a great place to live, work and raise a family,” Wilson says.

Constituents in District 2 will also be asked about their opinions on hot-button issues like increasing the judicial membership of the Utah Supreme Court, holding social media giants accountable for their influence on children, election integrity, housing affordability and homelessness.

Additionally, survey respondents will be asked in weigh-in with their opinions about issues like renewable vs. traditional power sources; water conservation; school construction oversight; tax reduction; artificial intelligence; and the mining of critical minerals.

As always, Wilson says that your survey responses will be kept completely anonymous.

Going into the next legislative session, the senator from Logan acknowledges that Utah now stands in an enviable position as one of the top states in the nation, ranking number one in economic outlook, upward mobility, rate of volunteerism and best state overall.

“Our state’s success is driven by the values, generosity and hard work of Utah communities,” Wilson emphasizes.

“In this upcoming session, we will thoughtfully consider policies that strengthen our state and maintain Utah’s high quality of life.”
