BRIGHAM CITY – The holiday season in Brigham City is a time for connection, joy, and coming together, and many of their holiday traditions have started like their Celebration of Trees found in the Box Elder County Historic Courthouse.

The Box Elder County Historic Courthouse, located at 1 South Main Street in Brigham City, has multiple creative Christmas Trees on every floor.

This is the second year the county has offered the Celebration of Trees. Lynnette Crockett, the Box Elder County Public Information Officer, wanted to make sure the public knows about it and is inviting everyone to see how the different county departments decorate the trees.

“We held a community event on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., featuring beautifully decorated Christmas trees created by county departments with a little help from Santa and his elves,” Crockett said. “Each tree reflects creativity, teamwork, and the festive spirit that makes our community so special.”

She said there were some 400 people who came out to support the county’s open house to begin the event that will run until Wednesday, Dec. 24.

“Some of them went to the event in Tremonton, here and then to the Fantasy at the Bay Light Show at Willard Bay State Park,” she said while counting votes for the different trees. “Each tree has a number and what department decorated the trees. And we have a ballot for people to vote for their favorite tree.”

The Fantasy of the Bay Light Show cost $20 a car load and it is really popular this time of year, Crockett said.

They will be announcing the winner at the employee party on Friday, Dec. 5 at 3 p.m.

“Visitors are welcome to stop by the Historic Courthouse anytime on Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to view the trees and vote for their favorite,” she said. “Guests can cast their final votes during the open house and until 3 p.m. Friday.”

Crockett said the holidays are a time when the community truly comes together.

“The Celebration of Trees is a joyful way to share creativity, spread holiday cheer, and connect with friends and neighbors,” she said.” We’re excited to welcome everyone back for another year of festive fun.”

A Christmas tree from the library is decorated with books and stuffed animals. The police department has a Christmas tree decorated with K-9; the auditors made a Christmas tree out of currency and there are more themes and more trees.

Families and visitors will have a chance to enjoy the festive décor all season long.
