LOGAN — A man was flown to the hospital after a snowmobile accident in the mountains east of Logan. The crash was reported around 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26.

According to emergency radio communications, the man was riding with a group in the Peterson Hollow area, near the Idaho border, when the crash occurred. Some of the other riders were able to put him onto another snowmobile and begin transporting him out of the area.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Tim Ramirez said Search and Rescue teams were dispatched to rendezvous with the group.

The injured rider, reportedly in his 20’s, had non-life-threatening injuries but was in a lot of pain.

Ramirez said, due to the location and the patient’s condition, a medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene. It landed near the group and transported the injured rider to the hospital.
