LOGAN–The Boy Scouts of America Crossroads Council would like the public to be aware they are hosting their Scouting for Food Drive tomorrow Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023.

Jason Eborn the scout executive of the Old Ephraim District of the Crossroads of the West Council said they are hoping to have people bring food to scouts for their 37th annual food drive.
“When the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints dropped out of scouting it reduced our numbers making it harder to go door to door,” Eborn said.” We will hae scouts set up outside of the Smiths grocery stores, Bank of Utah, Artic Circle and Young Automotive.”
Those businesses have been handing out collection bags for a couple of weeks.
“We would like to collect 10,000 items collected,” he said. “The need is still there.”
Soldiers and Airmen from the Utah National Guard will pick up the canned goods at donation drop-off sites and deliver the items to food assistance organizations.
They would like the public to drop off non-perishable food items at a the donation sites throughout Utah during Scouting for Food.

The scouts suggest donated items could include commercially packaged, non-perishable foods such as beef stew, chili, soups, canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, and boxed meals.
For more information about Scouting for Food donation sites or find the Cache Food Panty or other local food pantries, visit www.utahscouts.org/scoutingforfood.
