Ross Neil Rhodes passed away peacefully on his beloved farm surrounded by his family on July 19, 2022.  Neil was born on August 24, 1935 to Rossco Rhodes and NaVelle Nielsen.

Neil learned from an early age to work hard to achieve many things in life.  His greatest achievement was his longtime love Gael Cutler.  They met at the Crossroads while she was waitress and himself a mechanic.  The couple got married and together had three sons, Reed, Ralph & Ron.

Neil worked tirelessly on his farm and as an employee at Thiokol where he retired after 24 years.  Horses were Neil’s greatest joy.  A past President of the Bear River Cutter Association, a member of the Box Elder County Mounted Sherriff’s Posse and flat track racing is where you would find the Rhodes’ family for summer vacations and Chariot racing was a staple in the Rhodes memories. As a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, you can trace Neil’s proudest stallion “Tinky Joe”!  Neil was a reservist in the Utah National Guard, and also an member of the morning coffee crew at Cross X, and JC’s.

Neil is survived by his siblings Diane (Stan) CA, Don (Jean) AZ and boys Reed (Teresa) Morgan, Ralph (Shelley) Garland, Ron (Lynda) Garland, Utah.  Eleven grandchildren & 18 great grandchildren.

Neil is preceded in death by his wife Gael, Joe Rhodes – Brother, Carol – Sister, his parents, Rossco & NaVelle Rhodes along with Uncle Reed Nielsen, and many other family members too many to list.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 10-11:30 A.M. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N 100 E-Tremonton) with a graveside to follow at Noon at the East Garland Cemetery.

We would like to thank all those who visited and took care of dad. In lieu of flowers, please take a moment to spend time with your family.  Time goes faster than you think.

Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home.
