LOGAN — A judge has agreed to release a 58-year-old Providence woman from jail, who was arrested last week and charged with six counts of failing to register as a sex offender, a third-degree felony.

Jeena Nilson appeared in 1st District Court Monday afternoon after being arrested last Wednesday.

Judge Kevin Allen said he would allow Nilson to be released on pretrial supervision. He also agreed with state attorney Spencer Walsh, who asked that she have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 except for her family, and that she update her sex offender registration information within 24-hours.

In November 2002, Nilson was sentenced to one-to-15 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of sex abuse of a child, a second-degree felony.

Judge Allen ordered Nilson to appear again in court July 6.
