LOGAN – To celebrate Pride Month in June, Utah State University’s news website — Utah State Today — is focusing on university employees and students involved in research, academic work and other projects related to or that benefit the LGBTQIA+ community. Most of the stories are taken from content published on the website in recent years.
LGBTQIA+ is an evolving acronym that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer/questioning, asexual.
A story in March of 2022 announced that gender-inclusive housing at USU would begin the Fall of that year.
A story for Pride month in June of 2022 profiled the work of USU graduate River Johnson and Christy Glass, director of the Center for Intersectional Gender Studies & Research, to produce an inclusive research fieldwork guide.
Another feature printed in June of 2022 explained the work of USU faculty to spotlight the school’s LGBTQIA+ history. A profile in early 2023 highlighted a $450,000 grant allowing researchers to build data infrastructure to support LGBTQIA+ inclusion in stem fields.
