LOGAN — A man was taken into custody for questioning after allegedly robbing a bank, according to law enforcement. The robbery was reported around 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29.
Logan City Police Capt. Shand Nazer said officers were called to the Golden West Credit Union, 220 E. 1400 North, moments after the robbery had taken place.
“An adult male had taken some money,” said Nazer. “Officers responded and were able to locate a male based on the description given. He was taken into custody for questioning.”

The suspect was reportedly wearing black clothing and a face mask. He was carrying a backpack and allegedly fled the bank on foot.
Bank employees were able to provide information and surveillance footage of the incident.
Nazer said officers were able to track the suspect to the Lowe’s Hardware Store, directly north of the bank. They evacuated the store and located the suspect without incident.
“Nobody was threatened. Certainly, this was a potentially dangerous situation, if he is able to rob a bank, he could pose a threat. However, no threats were made and we don’t believe anyone was in danger.”
Police have not released the identity of the suspect, pending the investigation. He reportedly did not have a firearm.
The amount of money taken was not released.
Nazer said the credit union remained closed as the investigation continued and support was provided to bank employees.
The hardware store was reopened just before 10 a.m. Police did not believe any other businesses in the area were in danger.
