April 27, 2005 – August 15, 2022 (age 17)

Miranda Mae Walker rejoined her Father in Heaven on August 15, 2022. She was born as the youngest of 4 children to Richard and Marcena Walker on April 27, 2005 in Logan, Utah. She was raised in Hyde Park, Utah in a home filled with family. She was lucky to have both sets of grandparents living at the “Walker Compound” and learned from her big sister Emily how to get three breakfasts in one morning.

Miranda had the biggest heart. She loved both broadly and deeply, and once you had a place in her heart, you lived there forever. She would always look after her friends and family, taking care of them and reminding them often of her love in both word and deed. She continually looked for little ways to brighten someone’s day and was always looking after people who needed her.

Miranda adored her nieces and nephews, Dakota, Paisley, Oliver, Riker, and most recently Hazel. She always wanted to be a fun aunt and would do crafts and activities with them. She was thrilled that she was able to be at the hospital to meet Hazel when she was born, and she took some adorable pictures of Riker with her dog, Tootsie.

Miranda loved animals–from insects and reptiles to horses and especially her dog Tootsie. She cherished Tootsie and taught her all kinds of tricks, showing them off to all her friends and family every time the puppy learned a new one. Miranda was obsessed with sloths and would squeal with delight every time she saw one. She amassed quite the collection of sloth themed items, from blankets to plushies to a crocheted sloth made by her sisters.

Miranda was a five star chef (but a one star cleaner… although she was slowly improving at the clean up and even organized the pantry recently). She made the world’s best mashed potatoes and loved making her special popcorn for her mom and dad. She loved eating cake with milk poured right on top of it, Walker style.

Miranda loved music. She was always singing or humming something, and she had such a beautiful voice that it was a pleasure to hear her sing. Sometimes she would sing in the shower, and Richard and Marcena would just stop, listen, and enjoy the sound of her voice. When she was younger she would often gather whoever was available to hear her sing.

Some of her favorite things included: her best friend Emma, Doritos tacos from Taco Bell, drinks from Whips, candles, bath bombs, and doing her makeup.

Miranda is preceded in death by her Grandfathers George Larry Walker and Kenneth Wayne Ely, as well as her Aunts, Cheryl Hawes Gladys Christine Walker.

She is survived by her mother, Marcena Walker, father Richard Walker, sisters Linda (Matt) Clyde and Emily (Cooper) Thatcher, brother Richard (Emily) Walker Jr., and grandmothers Mary Walker and Linda Ely. She is and will continue to be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
