PROVIDENCE – Epiroc AB, a Swedish manufacturer of mining and infrastructure equipment, is opening an office in Providence.
To introduce the company to Cache Valley they are holding a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. at their new location at 560 Golf Course Road, Providence in the old Linkotek building.
Although the company is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, they have manufacturing facilities in Sweden, United States, Canada, Australia, China, India, Japan, and Germany.
The company is a global leader in manufacturing mining and construction equipment and wants to establish a strong presence established in the Cache Valley area.
Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (“ASI”), a Cache Valley-based company and a pioneer in the automation of industrial vehicle systems, sold the business unit of ASI to Epiroc. Epiroc acquired a 34% stake in ASI Mining in 2018 and will now take full ownership of the company.
ASI’s leading Original Equipment Manufacture-agnostic autonomy platform has propelled ASI Mining to unprecedented success in a short period of time. With this divestiture, ASI is positioned to accelerate their expansion of the Logistics, Agriculture, Construction, and Automotive Test product offerings.
Epiroc currently employs over 50 dedicated professionals.
