LOGAN — A 23-year-old Logan woman has pleaded guilty to burglarizing a Logan residence earlier this year. Eva M. Flores, who was previously convicted of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and domestic violence in the presence of a child, accepted a plea deal that could send her to prison.

Flores participated in a virtual hearing in 1st District Court Wednesday morning, appearing by web conference from the Cache County Jail. She pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary, amended to a first-degree felony.

Defense attorney Ryan Holdaway said the charge caries a possible maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. He explained that in exchange for Flores’ guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to drop four remaining charges against her.

On Jan. 1, Flores got into a dispute with the victim, who was a prior acquaintance. During the fight, she pushed her way into the Logan residence.

Police had reported that once inside, Flores punched the homeowner before fleeing the scene. However, Holdaway claimed the victim was assaulted by two other individuals and not his client.

In February 2019, Flores was sentenced to one-year in jail for encouraging a 14-year-old girl to have sex with two older men.

Earlier in 2018, she and her boyfriend got into an argument while drinking alcohol. She became angry and stabbed the victim while the couple’s two children were watching. The man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

During Wednesday’s court appearance, Judge Brian Cannell accepted Flores’ plea agreement. He ordered her to remain in jail and appear again for sentencing June 8.
