Logan School District officials were pleased Tuesday when their $55 million building bond was approved by voters so that Logan High School can be remodeled and Hillcrest Elementary can be re-built.

School board member Ann Geary was happy with the vote which was 2,643 in favor and 1,956 against.

“I am thrilled that the bond has passed,” Geary said Tuesday evening, “that our citizens are willing to support the districts and the students in our district and have safer schools for them.

“We’ll be getting right with our architects and getting things going. It’s still a nail biter for the levy. We’ll have to wait for provisional ballots to come in.”

At the end of Tuesday’s vote-counting the levy had 2,365 votes in favor and 2,244 against. Geary said there are 168 provisional ballots yet to be counted.
