LOGAN — A 38-year-old Logan man has pleaded guilty to raping an underage girl and could be sentenced to life in prison.

Drew Andersen appeared in 1st District Court Monday afternoon accepting a plea. As part of the agreement, he pled guilty to one count of rape, a first-degree felony. State attorneys agreed to drop the other five charges.

Andersen was arrested August 29, after confessing to police of raping an underage girl over a dozen times.

State attorney Barbara Lachmar told the court the victim was between the ages of 14 and 17 at the time of the assaults.

The plea deal prevents the case from going to trial that was scheduled for January 6.

Andersen remains in jail on $120,000 bail. He is scheduled to be sentenced January 26.
