LOGAN — A 21-year-old Logan man has been arrested after police allegedly tracked him sharing child pornography through a social media account. Corban J. Bindrup was booked Thursday into the Cache County Jail.

According to an arrest report, Logan City Police officers received a cybertip in April from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. It claimed Bindrup had used a Snapchat group to exchange a video, depicting a young boy being raped.

Police obtained a subpoena and tracked the IP address to Bindrup’s residence in Logan. They also tracked an email address, associated with the Snatchat username to the suspect, the report detailed.

Officers served a search warrant to Bindrup’s residence on Thursday. They allegedly seized several electronic devises.

The report explained that when police searched the devices they located several images of child pornography. They also discovered an “extremely large quantity” of pornographic cartoon images of children that appeared to be computer generated.

Jail records show Bindrup was booked on five offenses of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony. He is being held without bail, pending arraignment on formal charges in 1st District Court.

Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
