LOGAN — A 35-year-old Logan man already on probation for drug possession has been arrested for allegedly downloading child sexual abuse material, according to law enforcement. Adalberto Olague Soto was booked Oct. 21 into the Cache County Jail.
According to a probable cause affidavit, law enforcement was conducting a probation check when they reportedly located a doll resembling a minor used for sexual purposes. Soto told agents he had bought it on Temu.
Cache County Sheriff’s deputies obtained a warrant and seized the doll and Soto’s phone. On it they located an image of child sex abuse.
In 2022, Soto was convicted of possession or use of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony. He was originally sentenced to 45 days in jail, followed by additional jail terms for violating the conditions of his probation.
Soto was arraigned Oct. 24 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony; and possession of a child sex doll, a class A misdemeanor.
Judge Spencer Walsh ordered Soto to remain in jail temporarily without bail, and appear again in court Nov. 3.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
