LOGAN — A 28-year-old Logan man who was previously convicted of sexual assault has accepted a plea deal in a second case accusing him of raping another woman in 2016. Arthur “Bryar” Robinson will be sentenced Sept. 29, when he could face up to 15 years in prison.
According to court records, Robinson participated in a change of plea hearing Tuesday in Logan’s 1st District Court. He pleaded “no contest” to four counts of forcible sexual abuse and one count of aggravated assault, all second-degree felonies; and sexual battery, a class A misdemeanor. The plea means he concedes the charges alleged without admitting guilt or offering a defense.
The case was filed after Robinson was originally arrested in October 2020, after another woman claimed she was raped multiple times. He served more than 15 months in jail while the case proceeded through the courts.
In February, a jury found him guilty of three reduced counts of sexual battery after defense attorney had argued the relationship with the woman was consensual. He was later ordered to serve 15 months in jail but given credit for time already served.
Robinson is currently out of jail on pretrial supervision.
