LOGAN – City officials in Logan have announced that this weekend will be the last chance for residents to skate at the Carol and Jim Laub Plaza this season.

Due to the onset of spring weather conditions, Logan officials have decided to close the ice skating rink in the Laub Plaza in downtown after Sunday, Mar. 3.

The ice rink will be open from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28 and Friday, Mar. 1. On Saturday, Mar. 2, the rink will be open from noon until 9:30 p.m.

On its last day, the ice skating rink will be open from noon to 5:30 p.m.

Ninety-minute skating sessions will be offered on Feb. 28 and Mar. 1 beginning at 4 to 5:30 p.m.; 6 to 7:30 p.m.; and 8 to 9:30 p.m.

The Saturday schedule for Mar. 2 will offered 90-minute skating session starting from noon to 1:30 p.m; 2 to 3:30 p.m.; 4 to 5:30 p.m.; 6 to 7:30 p.m.; and 8 to 9:30 p.m.

The schedule for Sunday, Mar. 3 will be 90-minute skating sessions from noon to 1:30 p.m., 2 to 3:30 p.m.; and 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Equipment rental fees are $3 for ice skates, $3 for a skate trainer/walker and $1 for a helmet. The ice skating rink’s schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather.
