July 3, 1937 – May 26, 2022 (age 84)

Lerleen E. Hatch, 84, died May 26, 2022, at his home in Tucson, Arizona. Lerleen was born July 3, 1937 in Franklin, Idaho to Shiblon Gregory Hatch and Denise Monson Parkinson. Lerleen, a formally educated and trained aeronautical engineer, loved building and fixing things. Larry built the family home in New Castle, Washington.

Lerleen was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served a three year mission in Mexico from 1957 to 1960.

Lerleen married Diane Myers Hall November 4, 1961, in the Logan Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 1962 Lerleen received a Bachelors’ Degree in aeronautical engineering from Utah State University. Lerleen and Diane were blessed with two children, Kimberli Hatch Quinn and Larry Troy Hatch. For many years he worked for Boeing Corporation in Everett, Washington until his retirement in 2002.

In 2020 Lerleen moved to Tucson where he lived with his son Troy. In Tucson, Lerleen’ s hobbies and activities included growing rare cactuses and fruit trees, gardening, listening to jazz music and playing with his dog, Duke.

Lerleen is survived by his wife Diane, daughter Kimberli Quinn, grandchildren Stephen Owens, Victoria Hatch and Zion, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Troy, his brother Greg, and his sisters Marilyn and Dorothy.

He is loved and will be remembered by family and friends for his vivid recollection of all sorts of factual details and lessons acquired through his life’s experiences, and his interesting and intriguing stories.

Services and Dedication of the Grave will be held at 10:30 a.m. on June 11, 2022 at the Wellsville, Utah Cemetery.
