LOGAN — As part of USU Extension’s outreach on nutrition education, what’s billed as the Food, Fun and Reading classes continue on Wednesday and also June 6th and 13th.

On KVNU’s For the People program on Tuesday, Carolina Cabilmonte  from USU Extension told us how the classes are being organized.

“To make it fun for the kids, and not only for them, but also we teach their parents to enjoy the class. So we first start reading a story book, we have a series of free classes. We talk about ‘My Plate’, we talk about whole grains….and so what we do is start with a fun story, read a book about what we’re going to learn that day,” she explained.

In fact, the presentation on Wednesday(today) is on Grains, later presentations will be on Protein and Dairy.

These free lessons are open to preschoolers through 2nd grade and their parents.

The classes will be held at 179 North Main, downtown Logan in the multi-purpose room (next to suite 111). Each class will be held at 11a.m.
