On Friday, April 8, 2022, Kevin Lynn Rasmussen returned to his heavenly home to be reunited with those of his beloved family who had passed before him.

Kevin was born April 22, 1972, in Brigham City, Utah, to Sheryl Ann Barker Rasmussen and Parley Thomas Rasmussen. He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1990 before accepting a call to serve in the Los Angeles, California mission. He remained an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life and served his faith in many  capacities.

Kevin lived his life surrounded by his family and friends and invested most of his time cultivating those relationships important to him. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, camping, playing board games, and dunking Oreos (with a fork, of course). He loved detective and police shows, mystery novels, going on long drives with his mother, and good conversation.

Some people are remembered by their public achievements, college degrees, or fancy medals. Others are best known by their quiet service to the community and in the personal and very private victories won over the course of a lifetime. Kevin was just such a person. So don’t look for Kevin in the paper. Don’t look for his name on the side of a fancy building. You’ll find Kevin in the hearts of those who loved him and in the minds of those who knew him best.

Kevin is survived by his mother (and best friend), Sheryl; two sisters, Annette (Brad) Barber and Kathy (Doug) Nielsen; and one brother, Scott (Gina) Rasmussen; a brother-in-law Mike Earl; and numerous nieces and nephews including Carrisa Dominy and Jared Rasmussen to whom he was like a second father.

He was greeted in heaven with love and glorious celebration by many loved ones there, including his father, Tommy; his brother Jeff Rasmussen; his sister Becky Earl; his nephews, Jason and Shawn Earl; his niece, Aimee Earl Webster; as well as his grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Most of you know that Kevin spent a large portion of his life battling Muscular Dystrophy. Those of us who know him best know that he met this challenge without complaint, and with great courage and dignity. Given this, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Kevin’s name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association at:

The family would also like to give a heartfelt thanks to the good people at the Brigham City Community Hospital and the Ogden Regional Medical Center for the excellent care and compassion shown to Kevin and his family throughout this challenging time.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Brigham City South Stake Center, 865 South 300 West, Brigham City, UT, with a viewing prior from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will also be a viewing at Myers Mortuary in Brigham City on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.

Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at Myers Mortuary.
