October 14, 1939 – July 1, 2022 (age 82)

Julian Leigh Wilkinson was born in October 1939 to Leigh and Della (Busby) Wilkinson in Logan, Utah. He was 82 years old. He passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on July 1, 2022, in Logan.

Growing up, he helped in the family-owned store Wilkinson and Sons; He attended and graduated from Logan High School. While in high school, Julian played the clarinet and was a member of the ROTC rifle team. After high school, he attended Utah State University and graduated with a Masters Degree in Computer Science. After graduating, Julian accepted a position in the computer center at USU as an analyst; Julian retired from USU after 25+ years.

Julian married Marie Pearl Stanford in 1961, and they were married for 30 years. Julian loved spending time with his family. He and his children were heavily involved with the swim team. This involvement took them on “swimcations” all over Utah, Idaho, and Colorado. He also enjoyed boating, walking, and being up the canyon. He could always find a face in the rocks. If you asked him what brought him joy, I think he would say Family, Christmas, and Chocolate! He enjoyed giving to others, whether gifts at Christmas or his time and expertise. When his arthritis began to slow down his body, he found respite in service through volunteering at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Bishops Store House and Cannery. His love of service showed, and he expressed that his physical pain decreased, and he felt the blessing when he served. He valued those twenty-eight years and would often pull ten to twelve hours daily. Julian would get a kick out of making people laugh through jokes or harmless pranks. He enjoyed life, loved the gospel, and had a strong testimony. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind a family that will remember him lovingly; his children: Susan (Doug) Wilson, Brian, Michael (DeeDee), Daniel (Debbie), David, Steven, and Megan (Patrick) Nielson. Along with twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Nelson Funeral Home on Friday, July 8, at 1:00 pm.

A brief viewing will precede the funeral from 11:00 am-12:30 pm.

A graveside service will follow at Logan Cemetery.

Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at Nelson Funeral Home.
