Our dear mother, Joan Sorensen, 84, returned home to her loving Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. She was born on February 27, 1938, to Bernard Joseph Harris and Edith Alice Welch in London, England.

She married Earl Glenn Sorensen in England in 1957. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away in 2009. They were married for 52 wonderful years.

When she came to America, she became a US Citizen Naturalized and lived in Arizona and Idaho. After her husband’s retirement from the Airforce, they moved to Utah.

Joan converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1960. She held many callings, including Relief Society President.

She was a seamstress in England where she made clothing for the Queen of England. She also worked at South Hamilton Drug, Sew What, and Christensen’s.

Joan enjoyed sewing, quilting, toll painting, and loved going to yard sales.

She was an angel here on earth. She was loving, caring, and selfless. She’d do anything she could to help others.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Bristol Hospice and Morgan, Reagan, Charlotte, Mandy, and Ashley.

Joan is survived by her five children: Joseph A. Sorenson, Kenneth R. Sorenson, Debbie S. Talbot (Arthur Jay), Michael G. Sorenson, and Amy C. Archuleta (Justin Lee Simon); one sister: Margaret Tomlinson; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, in-laws, and Great-granddaughter Stevie Moates.
