March 5, 1960 – June 27, 2022 (age 62)
Jerry James Nelson (62) son, brother, uncle: Returned home to His Heavenly Father on June 27, 2022 of natural causes in his home in Logan, Utah. He was born in Preston, Idaho to Nedra Inez Godfrey and Leonard Devearl Nelson.
Jerry was full of mischief from the very beginning and loved life in his youth, He enjoyed being outside, and could often be found water skiing or working on his classic cars. He loved his 1968 GTO and 1966 SS Chevelle and had a knack for fixing cars.
Jerry struggled from a young age with mental illness, but overcame it each and every day. He was a true example of enduring to the end, and making the most out of the life he had been given.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and grandparents, his sisters Cathleen Nelson Miller and Sueann Nelson Haslem and a brother-in-law, Larry Apgood.
He is survived by his siblings Valene Apgood, Wayne (Sandy) Nelson, Brent (Diana) Nelson, Janet Hulet, John (Peggy) Nelson, Deanne Brin and stepsister Shelly (Steve) Smith.
The Family would like to thank Jerry’s health care providers and case workers who have looked after him throughout the years.
There will be a graveside service on July 8, 2022 at 2 PM at the Clarkston Cemetery.
