SMITHFIELD — Get your running shoes out and get healthy!  A big feature of Smithfield Health Days is the Fun Run.  It will be held Saturday morning at 730a.m. (with staggered start) from Smithfield’s Mack Park.  Registration continues until race time for the 10K, 5K and the Mayor’s Mile.  Limited shirts are available, the cost is $27 dollars for the 5K and 10K and $22 dollars for the 1 Mile run. $7 dollars less without the shirt.  Packet pickup is Friday, May 13th from 5p.m. to 8p.m. at Al’s Sporting Goods.

Other events include the Smithfield Chamber Pancake Breakfast, Saturday morning from 8a.m. to 930a.m. in the Smithfield Youth Center.

A Book Sale, Saturday morning from 9 to 11a.m. on the east lawn in front of the old part of the library building.  It is a CASH ONLY book sale. It’s also the 100 year anniversary for the Smithfield Public Library, see the display in the Smithfield Youth Center.

The Health Days Parade will take place Saturday morning at 10a.m. along Main Street from 300 South to 300 North in Smithfield.

The  whole family will enjoy the Smithfield Health Days Horse Pulls on Saturday starting at 12 noon at the Forrester Acres Equestrian Park.  You’re invited to come and watch some of the best equine athletes perform at the first competition of the season and it’s FREE admission.

The week wraps up with Fireworks – Saturday night after dark at Forrester Acres Blue Sox Field.
