LOGAN — On her monthly visit to KVNU’s For the People program last week, Jamie Andrus, CEO of the Cache Valley Chamber of Commerce, talked about events this month, including the Patriot Day Invitational to be held Friday at Logan River Golf Course.
“We do have, I believe, one to two teams left that we could squeeze in, if anyone’s interested. Our sponsors and co-sponsorships are full and we’re very excited that we’re going to be making a donation in honor of Patriot Day – 9/11 – to the Marine Corps League Auxiliary,” she explained.
Andrus said there are a lot of big events going on surrounding the 9/11 commemoration, so they are happy to be a part of the week’s activities.
Other events this month include a Meet the Candidates Luncheon on September 17th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Logan Country Club. Andrus said, instead of a debate, it will be an open forum format.
“We’re allowing each candidate who shows up, which we know in advance who we’ve invited and who will be able to attend, to actually just stand up and tell a little bit about themselves, their office that they’re running for, and then maybe their platform, what they hope to accomplish. They’ll be there for the networking half-hour and then afterwards, to take some questions as well.”
She said they are also having an interesting group known as the Utah Global Diplomacy Group as their sponsor, and by invitation only, they will have a roundtable with them after the leadership lunch.
