Gary Don Lee, 73, of Logan, Utah, passed away unexpectedly from heart complications on January 30, 2024.

Gary was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 17, 1950, as the fifth child of six to Bill and Carol Lee.  He graduated from Murray High School, attended college at the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. He joined the Utah Air National Guard before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Central California mission.  Gary met his eternal sweetheart, Loraine Duncan, on a blind date December 22, 1973. It was nearly love at first sight and they were married in the Provo Temple on July 12th, 1974.  This year celebrates 50 years together.

Gary’s greatest joys in life are his sweetheart, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He took personal interest in the lives of his extended family. His family remembers going on lots of bike rides and they could often be seen riding with many little bikers in tow.  His true passion was the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many of his lessons and teachings to his family were aimed at building faith and a love of the Savior.  He shared his testimony of this often.

Gary enjoyed working with his dad.  They worked on car engines together and built cabins in the summers in southern Utah.  His career years included surveying uranium mines, scuba diving for under-water reclamation and construction and building homes as a general contractor.  He spent most of his career in mechanical engineering and received patents on several transmission designs.

He lived a full life loving his family and sharing his unique humor.  There was no doubt of how he felt toward each of them and especially how he felt about his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, William Day and Carol Varis Phillips Lee, and siblings; Carill Ina, William Phillips, Frederick David, and Maria.

Gary is survived by his wife, Loraine, his children, Carillisa (Richard) Bean, Jenny (Todd) Miller, Becky (Jon) Jenkins, Richard Everett (Betsy) Lee, DeAnna (Andrew) Shaw, Kenneth Day (Jamile) Lee, and Alishia (Tyler) Russell, thirty-one grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; as well as his sister, Linda (Rick) Jackson, brother-in-law, John Nicoll, and many nephews and nieces.
