BOX ELDER COUNTY — The former Tremonton City Fire Chief, already facing child sexual exploitation charges, has now been charged with a first-degree felony.
Ned “Brady” Hansen was charged Wednesday, July 2nd, with aggravated sexual abuse of a child. This new charge adds to his previous eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Hansen was initially arrested in January for allegedly possessing child sex abuse material. Following his arrest, a child, described as younger than 10, told her parents she believed Hansen had sexually abused her, according to an FBI investigation detailed in charging documents. An FBI agent’s review of Hansen’s social media accounts reportedly found messages corroborating the victim’s account.
Additionally, members of Hansen’s family have filed a civil lawsuit accusing him of abusing multiple family members since 2018.
Hansen’s case is also linked to former Utah Judge Kevin Christensen, with investigators alleging they discussed child sexual abuse and met in person for “sexual acts.” Due to this potential conflict of interest, the Brigham City Police Department transferred both Hansen’s and Christensen’s cases to the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force and the Davis County Attorney’s Office.
