February 5, 1955 ~ January 8, 2023 (age 67)

Florence (Cissy) Ellen Ayers Kirton, age 67, fulfilled her earthly mission, and returned home to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father, on Sunday, January 8, 2023, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Florence was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 5, 1955. In her early twenties, she moved to South Dakota to attend nursing school. While there, she met her future husband, John Kirton Jr. who was in the military. It was during that time that she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1978. After being released from the military, they returned to Utah with their four children.

After their marital status changed in 1995, she spent her time raising the children and serving in various capacities of care giving.

Florence was always happiest when serving others, and had a way of helping people to feel loved.

In 2018 she was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of serving a mission along with her son Daniel, at the Riverton Family History Library. Her love of family history was one of her greatest joys, and she spent much of her free time working on it.

Florence loved to learn, read, listen to music, and truly enjoyed the beauty of nature. She was such a positive, fun-loving and playful soul, to all who knew her.

The grief that is felt tremendously by all those who loved her, will be lessened for those of us who saw her unwavering faith and knew of her surety and of her excitement of returning to her heavenly home.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ayers, father, Ralph Ayers, a half-brother Ralph Ayers Jr., a half-sister Francis Ayers Anderson, and infant brother Edward Ayers.

She is survived by her sisters, Kathy (Kat) Kaur and Dortha (Dottie) Ayers. She leaves behind her 4 children, Benjamin Kirton, Elisabeth (Noah) Goodrich, Rachel (James) Conrad, and Daniel Kirton. Along with grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

There will be a viewing at the Crescent Park 1st Ward, 10885 South Pampas Dr, Sandy, Utah at 10:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m.
