Fern Eva Hirschi Hunsaker, age 94, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend, finished her earthly mission and passed away peacefully on July 13, 2022, in Brigham City, Utah.

She was born on August 3, 1927, in Ogden, Utah, to Albert David Hirschi and Josie Carter.  She was raised in Rosette, Utah, with many happy memories with her six siblings.  She moved to Brigham City to finish out her high school years.  She started working at First Security Bank in Brigham City after finishing school.

She met the love of her life, Byron Eliason Hunsaker and they were married on February 14, 1952, in the Logan Temple and they enjoyed 64 wonderful years together.

Fern was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. One of her callings was a Den Mother for many years and she did many elaborate projects with the boys.

She worked hard throughout her life alongside her husband on the family farm in Honeyville, Utah.  She enjoyed working with the cows then sheep, feeding bum lambs, taking care of the many dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, horses and a pet goose.  She was an avid gardener and preserved many things from the garden.  She enjoyed doing handiwork, making quilts for her family, and crocheting afghans.  She was a fabulous cook and won many blue ribbons at the county fair.  After her children were in school, she returned to work at the Box Elder Bank for 16 years.

She was a wonderful mother and her grandkids adore her and she always made everyone feel special.  Her family was most important to her.

She is survived by her children:  Chad (Sarah Carey) Hunsaker, Ledah (Jud) Redden, Debra (Norm) Weston, and Michael (Laurie) Hunsaker and 18 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Byron, son, Byron Lee, and grandson, Tyrell Weston.
