The theme for the 2015 Cache County Fair was “The Greatest Show Around” and Fair Manager Jill Zollinger said the theme was appropriate because this year’s fair was one of the best ever held here.
Zollinger, who is also the county’s Clerk/Auditor, told members of the Cache County Council Tuesday that expenditures came in under budget and she felt good about that. She said there was great attendance and participation from the vendors and exhibitors was very good.
Although controversial to some, she said a big attraction at the fair was an elephant exhibit.
“People loved it. It was educational as well as people could have a ride,” Zollinger told the council. “There were even some kids who won a contest where they could bathe the elephants.
“It was a big hit and they’ll be back next year. Our contract was for two years.”
Positive reports from the Rodeo and the Utah State University Extension Service were also presented at the Tuesday meeting.
