July 3,1937 – October 19,2022 (age 84)
Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Dixie Lee Brown, passed away at home on July 3, 2022. She passed in her sleep just like she wanted Dixie was born on October 19, 1937 to Clarence Elijah Allen and Ether May Price. She lost her dad when she was 10 years old. She attended Jordan High School. In 1979 she decided to go back to school and received her high school diploma.
Dixie married Thamer Ellis Brown on November 24, 1954. They spent most of their married life in Brigham City where they had four children Vicky, Ricky, Cheryl, and Steven. They lost Ricky when he was 2 months old. On August 26, 1963 they were sealed in the Logan Temple. On April 25, 1981 she lost Thamer her one true love. She never remarried.
Dixie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the Savior, the gospel, and singing hymns. She was very grateful for the service she received over the years. She enjoyed reading, camping, and traveling. She lived a simple life and taught us that family is everything. Even though she had little money she was always generous. She experienced much loss and heartache but she always picked herself up and went on. Spending time with all her family and friends was the love in her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thamer; son Richard (Ricky); grandson, Shad Harrop; and daughter-in-law Pamela Brown; brother, Chris Allen; sisters, Fontella Dotson, Franny Sylvester, Beverly Green.
She is survived by her children, Vicky Amidan, Cheryl (Eric) Thomson, Steven Brown; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; one brother, Bill Allen and many more extended relatives.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11 am at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South.
A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00-10:30 am. Interment will be in the Midvale cemetery at 3:00pm.
