LOGAN — With Republican party conventions playing out over the last weekend, a theme that was struck up in a few races in Cache County continued through Salt Lake and Utah counties, as delegates were inclined this year to send incumbents into primaries.

In a lot of Cache county races, however, things were decided at the convention and one of those races has to do with the county clerk.  Jess Bradfield will officially be the next clerk and auditor again after the general election this year.

On KVNU’s For the People program on Monday, Bradfield talked about some of the dates to keep in mind with the elections.

“We have got the primary, Republicans are going to be going to the ballot boxes for the primary election, and that will be on June 28th. But we send out the ballots three weeks earlier than that…the week of June 7th is when ballots will arrive in the mail,” he said.

Bradfield said that many have wondered what he’s done over the last year and a half as  county clerk to make sure the vote by mail system is safe.

“Of course, there’s been a lot of news articles over the past two years about the ballot tracking and ballot tracks. If anyone wants to track their ballot and receive notifications and….always be notified of where your ballot is, they can go to BallotTrax.utah.gov”

He said voters will receive notifications through text or email, also if there’s a problem, such as if they forgot to sign their envelopes or their signature doesn’t match.

Bradfield said it’s a great tool that the state of Utah has implemented.
