Our favorite mom and grandma passed away peacefully at her home in Garland, Utah on Saturday July 30, 2022, at the age of 89. She was surrounded by her sweetheart and children with a houseful of grandkids that loved their Grandma Nana.
Our mom was born & raised in Riverside, Utah on July 7, 1933. She had loving parents, two sisters, and one brother. She graduated from Bear River High School in the spring of 1951 and absolutely loved her high school experience. She was involved in student council and pep club and was even the queen of the Gold and Green Ball. She continued to support the Bear River Bears as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren participated in various activities throughout the years.
Mom married her best friend, the love of her life, L. Dean Andersen in the Logan LDS Temple on September 11, 1951. Throughout their almost 71 years of marriage, she became the mother of three children, JaDene, Dee, and Teena. She was the grandmother of seven, great grandmother of 15, great-great grandmother of six, with one on the way, and ten bonus grandchildren. She always had plenty of time and love to give to each of us. Both her and Dad did everything together and supported each other in everything they did. They have always been a great example and blessing to all of us.
Our mom didn’t have any certificates hanging on her walls, but she acted as a first responder and nurse whenever we had a medical emergency. We knew we could call mom and she would always be there. Mom also helped others feel and look their best. There were many ladies that would come to our house every week to get their hair done. Although she had not been to beauty school, those ladies always left with beautiful hair styles.
Mom worked at the dentist office for over 40 years with Dr. Reece Mason and Dr. Russell White. Throughout her time in the office, she assisted as well as worked at the front desk, but more importantly, she gained some amazing friends in her co-workers and the many patients who were greeted with her smile.
The only thing better than having her for a mom was knowing that our kids & grandkids had her for a grandma. She was a super grandma who sat proudly through all kinds of weather watching her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids at rodeos, cutter races, dance competitions, football, basketball, and softball games as well as dirt bike races. We all knew she would be there to cheer us on any time she could.
Our mom always made holidays special. She took great care to make sure her house was decorated just right, and every birthday or Christmas present was wrapped with lots of love. She helped us realize the importance of spending time together as a family and continuing family traditions. She made sure to provide the opportunities and space to be close with our grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mom was a great cook. If you were sick or had recently had surgery, you could count on a bowl of the most comforting homemade chicken noodle soup with mashed potatoes. We also knew she could be easily bribed into making some of our favorite things like rice rolls with chocolate in the center, cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies, and cabbage rolls because no one could quite make them the same.
Mom was easily identified by her contagious laughter which was often shared with others. She was quick witted and could easily fill a room with laughter with her unexpected one liners & sense of humor. She brought so much joy to those she associated with.
Our mom was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved the gospel and held many calling throughout her life. Her favorite calling was the ward librarian otherwise known as the Sunday school teacher for many of her grandchildren. They loved spending time visiting her and our dad in the Library each Sunday.
She will be forever loved and missed by her husband Dean; children- JaDene (Dick) Owen, Dee (LaNette) Andersen, Teena (Mike) Hupp; brother- Jack (Melinda) Forsberg; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren with one on the way, as well as ten bonus grandchildren.
She was welcomed with kisses until her cheeks were rosy by her parents, Joe and Cleo “Pete” Forsberg; sisters- Marlene and Erlyn; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Noon in the Garland Tabernacle (140 W. Factory St., Garland).
Viewings will be held on Sunday evening, August 7, 2022 from 5-7 P.M. at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.- Tremonton). and prior to the funeral service at the Tabernacle from 10:30- 11:30 A.M.
Interment in the Riverside Cemetery.
