The Four Seasons Theatre Company’s production of Disney’s ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ will be presented in September with its cast, full choir and ensemble.
SMITHFIELD – The Four Season Theatre Company here has announced its cast for the September production of the Disney musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
That musical drama is based on the 1831 novel by Victor Hugo with songs and music adapted from the 1996 animated film from Walt Disney Studios.
The musical will be presented at Sky View High School in Smithfield from Sept. 21 to Oct. 1 with “… a cast of thousands.”
“Not really,” laughs Holly Gunther, but she admitted that it sometimes feels like that many people are involved.
Nathan Allen has graduated from the flying crew in the previous Four Season production of Mary Poppins to play the deformed bell ringer Quasimodo.
He will star opposite newcomer Lorelle Frank as the flirtatious Gypsy dancer Esmeralda.
As Quasimodo’s imaginary gargoyle friends will be the talented ensemble of Riley Ritchie, Chris Metz, Logan Kelly, Amanda Madsen, Taylor Mickelson, Ben Hall, Patrice Densley and Jessop Oliver.
The villain of the musical is Daven Richie as Judge Claude Frollo. His reluctant henchman is Nathan Bohman as Phoebus de Martin.
Other principal cast members are Andrew Waldrip, Jared Rounds, Dallin Clark, Jared Lewis, Katie Ludlow, Alec Finley and Andrew Isrealsen.
The musical actually premiered in Berlin in 1999 as Der Glöckner von Notre Dame and was performed in German. It was highly successful, seen by more than 1.4 million ticket-holders in more than 1200 performances before closing in 2002.
Those German performances featured a 32-voice choir. In stateside productions since 2014, however, The Hunchback of Notre Dame has more often than not been performed only by members of the principal cast.
Here in Smithfield, however, the Four Seasons company is going whole hog, as usual.
Members of the Four Season choir for this production will be Mead Hansen, Lindsey Brogden, Marissa Gibson, Brittyn Jensen, Kennedy Hunter, Calissa Beach, Trisha Mae Jose, Heather Delong, Leigh Hopkins, Annaliese Resendes, Dillion Weatherston, Emily Fuller, Savannah Erekson, Bonnie May, Garrett Chandler, Karl Calderwood, Kimberlee Ward, Kellianne Rosner, Samantha Capener, Tyler Madsen, Zoey Irwin, Ben Harrison, Alisa Bartlett, Danilia Trisollini, Dustin Hayward, Brianne Hansen, Hayden Hoglund, Emily Harrison, Jennifer Bohman, Cole Lantz, Mindy James, Maggie Gadd and Garrett Richardon.
Members of the ensemble will be Erica Talbot, Kaitlyn Soto, Rachel Duffin Fillingim, Jessica Christensen, Nalani Matthias, Emma Pinkston, Tina Chambers, Cami Trappett, Elsie England, Stacy Poulsen, Maribelle Taylor, Andrew Withers, Germain Costa, Jeremiah Olsen and Ethan Shaw.
