Cache County Executive Craig Buttars and others are working to come up with a plan to finance some major improvements at the Cache County Fairgrounds.

Buttars says a key part of the plan would be to build a new multi-use building. He said it should include a number of important qualities.

“There would be a lot of different opportunities for trade shows, conventions, different activities like that,” Buttars explains, “that we could do on a regional basis for the whole area, Northern Utah, Southern Idaho, Southeast Idaho, Western Wyoming.

“I think we could draw people in from all over to participate in activities like that, even for athletic tournaments.”

Buttars says he is hoping that work on the building will start soon after the 2016 fair and hopefully be finished for the 2017 season.
