LOGAN – Cache County officials will convene a funding solution summit for local non-profit groups on Wednesday, June 25.

The Non-Profit Funding Solutions Summit, which will take place from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Cache County Event Center, is expected to draw non-profit leaders, board members, donors, civic stakeholders and community advocates.

This free event aims to strengthen local nonprofits by providing insights into fundraising, grant writing, donor engagement and sustainable impact.

“We have so many great nonprofits in Cache County and they’re doing incredible work,” said Cache County Executive David Zook, one of the event’s organizers.

“But many of them are struggling with funding challenges that affect their ability to serve residents in need,” he added. “Our goal is to provide resources to help them meet those needs.”

Sponsored by Cache Valley Bank, the morning summit will bring together development experts from Utah State University, Alta Bank, Intermountain Health Center, the Little Lambs Foundation, the Citizens Against Physical and Sexual Abuse, the Cache Valley Refugee and Immigrant Connection, the Family Place and the United Way.

Opening remarks will be offered by Clay Olsen, co-founder and president of Fight the New Drug and PHASE Alliance. Olsen will summarize the funding threats now facing non-profits and share ideas for navigation those challenges.

The featured keynote speaker will be Dr. Matt White, the vice president for Advancement at USU and president of the USU Foundation.

The goal of White’s presentation will be building sustainable revenue through vision, planning, and community alignment.

In a later session, Nelda Ault-Dyslin will discuss grant writing strategies. She is the assistant director of Community-Engaged Learning at the USU Center for Community Engagement.

A Funders Roundtable will follow, moderated by Wendi Hassan, the executive director of the Cache Valley Center for the Arts. The panel’s members will include Katie Hansen, the vice president of Alta Bank; local business owner and philanthropist Gary Andersen; and Anne Cazier, the director of Community Health for IHC.

A non-profit panel discussion showcasing proven success strategies from the executive directors of four local non-profit will also be featured.

Those directors will be Ted Chalfant from Little Lambs Foundation, Jill Andersen from CAPSA, Dan Johnson from CRIC and Sheryl Goodey from The Family Place.

That panel will be moderated by Jimmy Birman, the donor engagement director of the United Way.
