Brigham City’s mayor has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after a city council member complained he grabbed her arm during an argument.
The Standard-Examiner of Ogden reports Dennis Fife settled the infraction by paying a $140 fine last month.
Councilwoman Ruth Jensen tells the newspaper the mayor is showing her more respect and fairness after a number of run-ins between the two.
She says Fife mischaracterized the city council’s position when Brigham City, Perry and Willard officials gathered June 12 to choose a metropolitan planning association.
The mayor has said he placed a hand on Jensen’s arm after she called him a liar. She responded, “Don’t touch me!”
