Bartley F. Bullen passed away at Logan Regional Hospital on April 12, 2023 of natural causes. Bart was born May 31, 1928 in the family home in Richmond, Utah to Newell F. Bullen and Anna Stoddard Bullen. He grew up in Richmond and on the family ranch in Lewiston. He attended school in Richmond and Lewiston.
His father died when Bart was young so he had to start working when he was 15. In December of 1945 he joined the Army and served in Germany during the occupation. He then returned to Richmond and met and married Janis Christensen on November 25, 1950. He worked road construction and trucking until 1972 when he had a heart attack and changed jobs. He moved back to Richmond and went to work at Jack’s Tire and Oil until he retired. He then worked for the Christensen Family on the farm which was his favorite job. He drove the tractor, helped with the cattle until he was 85 years old. He liked to hunt and ride his horses with family and his friend Lyle Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janis and all his siblings; Ruth Andersen, Lenore Coles, Joyce Sudweek, Janis Spackman and brothers Bill and Dallas as well as a great grandson Cyrus Carpenter.
He is survived by his son Bill and daughter Marilyn (Doug) Carpenter, granddaughter; Shawna (KC McDougall) and grandson Preston (Sandy) Carpenter.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 17, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E. Preston, Idaho.
A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:30-11:30 am.
Interment and military rites will be in the Richmond Utah Cemetery.
