LOGAN — Police have arrested a 35-year-old Arizona man, who they claim traveled to a Logan park to try and have sex with an officer posing as a teenage girl. Kyle Silvio Arcurio was booked Tuesday into the Cache County Jail, where he is temporarily being held.

According to an arrest affidavit, Arcurio reportedly contacted the undercover officer on an online messaging app on June 2. The officer was posing as a 13-year-old girl from Logan.

The report stated, Arcurio told the officer he was from Ogden but later said he lived in California and travels to Utah often for work. He then began asking sexually explicit questions about the officer, and sent graphic pictures and videos of himself.

Arcurio said he would be traveling to Utah this week for work and later expressed interest in meeting. A time was arranged to meet with the defendant at the park in Logan. When the suspect showed up, officers were waiting to take him into custody, according to the affidavit.

While being questioned, Arcurio allegedly told police, “he was a sex addict and had wanted something new,” the report explained. He also had two condoms in his pocket, and knew he was speaking with a female under 18.

Jail records show, Arcurio was booked on felony suspicion of rape of a child, sodomy on a child, sexual abuse of a child and enticing a minor by internet or text. Officers have asked a judge to hold him in jail because of him being a possible flight risk and danger to the community.

Formal charges are pending the completion of officer’s investigation.

Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
